Successful Result For Kiwi West At Manawatu Winters

Kiwi took away 63 medals in total, 30 Gold, 16 Silver & 17 Bronze. The Kiwi Girls won this round with 34 medals vs the Kiwi boys on 29.
There were many exciting races including the Mens open 50 Fly where 3 people dead heated for 2nd place. Other highlights included.
- Liam McKnight wins first gold medal for Mens 10&U IM.
- Autahi Brock wins first gold for Mens 10&U 100 Breast.
- Jenna Buchanan Breaks Manawatu record for Womens 50 Fly.
- Aimee Morris breaks two Manawatu records for 50 Back & 100 Back.
- Recovering from a shoulder injury Sam Richardson produced a fantastic swim for the 200 free and a Gold for the 400 Free.
- Regan Kohunui achieved a Pb for all of his events.
- John Joe Elkington who finally managed to PB his 100 Free (It could have something to do with the fact he was racing against his brother Ben)
- Muriel Eade's first swim for Kiwi West gained her 3 medals, 3 pbs and a Finals place for all of her events. (Muriel's last swum for Bayview)
We had 48 swimmers entered with 85% of the team attaining at least 1 pb (personal best) time & 46% gaining a medal. It was an excellent meet for Kiwi swimmers who competed very aggressively for the number one spot.
