Kiwi West @ 2007 Aquahawks East Coast Juniors
East Coast Junior Results
The East Coast Juniors has a great History which extends back over 30 years, with many clubs from all over the North Island attending; clubs such as the "Waterhole Swimming Club" from Auckland who have been sending a team for the past 22 years. Kiwi West swimmers have also been attending this meet for many years, and this year a small team of juniors from Kiwi West traveled to Napier.
Most of our swimmers achieved some very good pbs and a couple managed to bring back medals. For most swimmers attending this was their first experience at the East Coast Juniors and also the first time using electronic touch pads to record their times. (and rules that are associated with them)
The meet was well attended by the Hawks Bay/Poverty bay clubs and hosted very well by Napier Aquahawks. (The officials were well looked after)
It was a very tough event, Kiwi West came 8th out of 15 teams entered with "Comet Swimming Club" from Gisborne taking the top
spot.

- Girls 11 yr Relay team 8th out of 16 teams entered.
- Kristie Price won a Silver medal for the Girls 11yrs 50 Breast
- Hamish McGirr won 5 Golds, 1 Silver & 1 Bronze and Boys 10 yrs Age Group Winner
- 10 swimmers attended the meet with ALL SWIMMERS (100%) attaining at least 1 Personal Best time.
