Jnr Swim Camp 2007

LAKE TAUPO - QUEENS BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!

The junior swim camp got off to a delayed start... but we managed to get the luggage packed and all the kids jammed into the vans to head off to Taupo for a rigorous swim camp weekend.

The jnr swimmers aged between 9yrs & 12yrs were extremely pleased to hear that our first stop in Taupo on Friday night would be the pool, for a swimming session starting from 7.30pm-9pm. (there was so much joy in their voices).

It was a fantastic weekend with 4 hard sessions, but everyone stepped up and gave it their best shot in the pool. Out of the pool was also pretty full on, with the Flour Bomb War, Movies, Pizza-Hut and games of Spot-Light, it was safe to say that the little dears were extremely tired.

The kids were a great delight to take on camp, they got to know each other better, make some friends, had a taste of what its like to train at senior level and have a bit of fun along the way.

After the last session on Sunday Morning we enjoyed another awesome lunch provided by "Eat Catering Co" and back home by Sunday Afternoon - just in time for the Kiwi Allstars Swimathon on Monday Morning

A huge thank you to the parents who volunteered as Team Managers, Jo Feetham, Lin Tozer, Dianne Tremain, Michael Van den Brink, James Elkington and coach Andrew Nicholls.

We would also like to recommend:
Lake Taupo Top 10 Holiday Resort the accommodation is excellent with great facilities & Eat Catering Company who provided delicious & nutritious lunches while we there. The Taupo AC Baths & Event Centre Staff for fantastic service and helping to make the camp a fun time.
