2008 Taupo Cash Meet
Kiwi West sent a team to this meet last year & everyone had a great time so this year we sent another team who also had a great time and still managed to get in some excellent swims.
Kiwi West came second in the points table (we didn't have the younger competitors) but we came first equal with the Taupo swim club with 97 top 3 places each. Next year we will be lowering the age restriction to 10 and try and take the whole club. We also had the second largest Team at the meet, a testimony to how much Kiwi West swimmers love to compete.
Meet Highlights
There were some outstanding swims with 71% of the team achieving 1 or more personal best times
- Cameron Blair taking a massive 19.80 sec off his 400 free.
- Muriel Eade 10.31 sec off her 400 free.
- Jack Finlay 4 personal best times.
- Libby-Anne Finlay 4 personal best times.
- Kristie Price came first in her age group for all 5 of her swims.
- Troy Greenem came first in all 5 of his swims for his age group.
- Evon Story had a fantastic meet with a huge 7 personal bests from 7 swims, and 7 first places for her Age group. Now if we can get SNZ to move NAGS to Taupo - Evon will clean up.
- As mentioned above Kiwi West came first equal with Taupo Swim Club with 97 top 3 places, the Boys came in with 46 top 3 places and were done in by the superior skills of the girls who had 49 top 3 places (looks like bragging rights go to the girls this time).
